Disclosures

Lead-Based Paint Disclosure – For any property constructed before 1978, the tenant must receive a lead paint disclosure outlining the possible harms of toxic lead paint. (EPA/HUD Fact Sheet)

Rent Grace Period

There is no rent grace period in Vermont. The tenant must pay the rent on the date agreed to in the lease agreement.

Security Deposit

Maximum Amount – There are no statutes that mention the security deposit maximum amount allowed to be charged to a tenant.

Returning – The tenant shall receive their security deposit back within 14 days of the lease’s end date. ยง 4461(c)

  • Deductions – If the property is damaged, the landlord is required to give the tenant an itemized list of the repairs needed.
