Lead-Based Paint Disclosure – Federal law requires landlords of buildings constructed before 1978 to give their tenants a lead paint disclosure before signing the lease agreement. (EPA/HUD Fact Sheet)

Security Deposit
Maximum Amount – There is no set maximum security deposit amount required by Mississippi law.
Returning – Landlords must return the security deposit back to the tenant within 45 days of the lease termination. (§ 89-8-21(3))
- Deductions – The landlord must provide an itemized list of damages if there are deductions made to the security deposit. (§ 89-8-21(3))
