Application Fee – Landlords may not charge an application fee if the tenant provides them with any sort of check (background or credit) within 90 days of application. If the tenant does not provide the check within 90 days, they may receive a bill to cover the check cost. (§ 34-18-59)
Security Deposit – One month’s rent is the maximum amount a landlord may charge for a security deposit. (§ 34-18-19)
